Rainbow Jello!

So to start off the week {for St. Patricks day} Sissy and I decided to make some rainbow jello. It was a process but defintally worth it. When brother came home sissy couldn't wait to show him. Then when Dad walked in the door, she was overwhelmed and could barely speak, "Dad, Dad. I made, We made, Oh Dad, JELLO!" So after dinner we put it to the taste test.
Needless to say we were satisified.

 RECIPE
Source for inspiration.
I used 5 different colors.
5- 6oz boxes of jello {blue, green, yellow, orange, red}
2- boxes of Knox Gelatin
1- can sweetened condensed milk

THATS IT!  Oh and several glass bowls.. for mixing stuff all up.

FIRST
  • Mix 3 packages of Knox gelatin in 1 1/2 cups boiling water.
  • Mix until dissolved.
  • Add sweetened condensed milk to Knox gelatin mixture.
  • Set aside.

 THEN:
  • Mix 3 packages of Knox gelatin with 1 1/4 cups boiling water.
  • Mix until dissolved.
  • Set aside.

READY FOR THE FUN PART?
  • Dissolve box of BLUE Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water.  {you can do whatever color first}
  • Add 1/4 cup of the Knox gelatin mixture to the Jell-O.
  • Pour into a 9x13 glass dish.
  • Let set in the refrigerator for 10 -15 minutes.

WHEN ITS SET UP
  • Pour 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk mixture over the Jell-O layer.
  • Let sweetened condensed milk layer set up in refrigerator. {10 minutes}

So overall the order of it goes a little something like this:
  • Blue jello
  • Sweetened milk mixture
  • Green jello
  • Sweetened milk mixture
  • Yellow jello {say that 5 times fast!}
  • Sweetened milk mixture
  • Orange jello
  • {should be sweetened milk mixture but I over calculated and ran out.. so I just skipped it and no one even noticed!}
  • Red jello
And there you have it!
